Samba Work

In 1998, Alessandra was the webmaster for LIESA, Rio's Association of Samba schools when she was contacted by David de Hilster with the desire for members of samba schools outside of Brazil to parade in Rio de Janeiro for in the year 2000. Alessandra took on the task and wrote a proposal for the Brazilian government proposing an international samba school entitled Unidos do Mundo to open the parade of champions in the sambadrome in the year 2000. The project was given a standing ovation in the Brazilian capital Brasilia, and Alessandra began to organize the event including costumes, floats, and workshops with famous samba personalities. On March 11, 2000, Unidos do Mundo took to the avenue in grand style, with much of the work in Brazil being done by Alessandra.
